Water Soluble Fertilizers

Calcium Nitrate

8.calciumnitrate mi
Calcium Nitrate contains secondary nutrient Calcium(Ca) 18.5% min & Nitrate Nitrogen (N) 14.5% min. Calcium levels in the plant directly control many enzyme reactions & enhance the uptake of Nitrate Nitrogen (N). Nitrate ions enhance the uptake of Calcium in plants. Calcium deciency leads to decrease in the development of terminal shoot buds & root tips which inhibits plant growth. It also causes chlorosis & distortion of new leaves. Calcium is essential in cell elongation & division. Calcium also facilitates uptake of Potassium (K) over Sodium (Na). Uptake of Calcium is difcult in highly leached & highly acidic soils. Excess of Calcium in soil can cause defciency of Potassium (K) & some micronutrients like Zinc.

Advantages

Since Calcium Nitrate has excellent water solubility, its highly soluble Nitrogen & Calcium are both immediately available to plants. This fertilizer can be used to correct plant deficiencies in Calcium & to correct high soil pH & hence to boost growth of above recommended crops. Calcium Nitrate reduces blossom end rot of tomatos & bitter lits of apples

Recommended Crops

Tomato, Onion, Potato, Groundnut, Sugar beets, Legumes, Cereals & Fibers (rice, wheat, maize, cotton etc.); Fruits (grapes, banana, mango, pomegranate, apple, citrus, strawberry etc.); Vegetables (cauliflower, capsicum, cabbage etc.); Flowers (gerbera, roses, marigold, carnation etc.) & Sugarcane, Tea, Coffee etc.
